Are you considering Irish dance classes for yourself or your child?
You’ve come to the right place!
The McGinley School of Irish Dance has been proudly teaching Irish dancing in Central Pennsylvania since 1999. For more than 25 years, we have welcomed hundreds of dancers through our doors—from two-year-olds taking their very first dance steps to competitive champions and adults discovering Irish dance for the first time.
At McGinley, we believe Irish dance should be challenging, rewarding, and FUN. Our dancers develop coordination, rhythm, strength, confidence, discipline, and performance skills while becoming part of a supportive dance community.
Whether your dancer wants to enjoy Irish dance recreationally, perform throughout the community, compete, or pursue championship-level dancing, there is a place for them at McGinley.
No previous dance experience is necessary.
Our beginner classes are designed specifically for dancers who are brand new to Irish dance. There is no need to purchase Irish dance shoes or a costume before getting started—we'll guide you through everything as your dancer progresses.
We offer classes for ages 2 through adult, and with continuous enrollment, you don't necessarily have to wait until September to join us.
Tuesdays | 5:30–6:00 PM
Our Young Beginner program is a fun, age-appropriate introduction to Irish dance for our youngest dancers. This 30-minute weekly class introduces basic Irish dance movements, rhythm, coordination, listening skills, and classroom independence—all while having fun!
Tuesdays | 5:30–6:15 PM
Our Beginner class introduces dancers ages five and older to the fundamentals of Irish dance. Dancers begin developing proper technique, rhythm, coordination, and traditional Irish dance steps while building confidence and friendships along the way.
As dancers progress, opportunities are available to participate in performances, parades, community events, and Irish dance competitions. Participation in performances and competitions is optional.
Our regular dance year runs from September through May, beginning the first full week after Labor Day and concluding around Memorial Day.
We offer continuous enrollment throughout the dance year, as space permits. That means you don't have to wait for a new school year to begin your Irish dance journey!
During the summer months, we offer dance camps and optional pop-in classes for currently enrolled dancers.
Enrollment for the 2026–27 dance year is open!
