Our Roots

Founded in January 2000 with six dancers, McGinley School of Irish Dance began as a small performance troupe dedicated to sharing a love of Irish dance.

In 2004, McGinley became a sanctioned school with Cumann Rince Náisiúnta (CRN), Dublin, Ireland, introducing competitive Irish dance and CRN’s graded curriculum.

Today, McGinley has taught hundreds of dancers throughout Central Pennsylvania while staying true to its core values of discipline, dedication, encouragement, and community.

We do it for the kids.

As a member of Cumann Rince Náisiúnta (CRN), McGinley dancers have the opportunity to compete in Feiseanna at the local, national, and world level in both solo and team events.

Competition encourages dancers to set goals, build confidence, and strive for their personal best. McGinley dancers have achieved tremendous success throughout the years, earning titles and top placements in the United States and Ireland.

While we are proud of these accomplishments, we value the hard work, perseverance, sportsmanship, and confidence developed along the way.

McGinley dancers have had the opportunity to perform alongside world-renowned artists including The Chieftains, Cherish the Ladies, Eileen Ivers, Frank Patterson, Gaelic Storm, the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Searson, and Trinity Irish Dance, with performances at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall, as well as venues in both the United States and Ireland.

Closer to home, McGinley is known throughout Central Pennsylvania for energetic, crowd-pleasing performances. From our busy St. Patrick’s Day season to Irish festivals and community events throughout the year, our dancers proudly share their love of Irish Dance and Irish culture with audiences of all ages.
